The Behavioral Health Technician plays a vital role in delivering high-quality behavioral health services within PHP and IOP settings, working closely with adolescents under supervision of licensed professionals. Responsibilities include Facilitating psychoeducational and skills-based groups on topics like depression, anxiety, emotional regulation, and social skills, using engaging methods such as activities and role-plays. Supporting a therapeutic milieu by maintaining a safe, structured environment, supervising clients during transitions, and modeling healthy communication and boundaries. Building supportive relationships, encouraging participation, and helping clients practice coping strategies while respecting professional boundaries. Observing, documenting, and communicating client behaviors and responses to the treatment team, ensuring confidentiality and proper clinical documentation. Assisting with crisis intervention, maintaining safety protocols, and supporting de-escalation as needed, without making clinical assessments outside scope. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams through effective communication, participating in meetings, and supporting a culture of professionalism and continuous improvement. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, prior experience in behavioral health with adolescents, strong interpersonal and facilitation skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team. Preference for experience with structured programming and evidence-based practices is noted.
